Message Its not a matter of 'matching' anything, you can offset the MAS voltage as much as you want to in open loop. They probably only allow you to make 'x' percentage change because there is really no reason to have to need a correction factor that large. If it is that bad off, you need a different base program.

In closed loop control an AFC screws it all up because the ECU is actually monitoring the O2's and adjusting the A/F alpha. The paramter in the closed loop region denotes the % enrichment or enleanment from 14.7:1. If you make it run really lean or really rich with an AFC to a significant amount, the ECU will start to correct this. The intermixing of feedback and MAS offsetting by the AFC I haven't even entertained - it boggles my mind just thiking about it. Just keep in mind that the ECU will run a theoretical amount of fuel based on the parameters in the map. The red areas denote the closed loop reion where it will adjust its output based on the O2 data. Offsetting the MAS voltage will ultimately make it read from a different part of the map (because load is determined via MAS and RPM) but the engine condition hasn't ACTUALLY changed. But the AFC should only be used for the high load corrections as it will not be affected this way.
